Work @Hevo
So, you’re here and you’re raring to go
So, you’re here and you’re raring to go.
Slow down!
To help you get started at Hevo, we’ve slipped a few items for you. We understand changing companies and starting a new job is already a stressful experience. On top of that, you have to navigate a foreign workspace, assimilate into a group of people that may have been working together for years. We want you to feel comfortable and well equipped to start in a new role. 1. Hevo's welcome kit 2. Company issued laptop and gear
It might be that as you get into the swing of things, you’ll have days where you prefer to sit at a desk with your Laptop, focus your concentration and knuckle down to something awesome. Perhaps on others, you might want to meet up with someone from another department to iron out a kink that’s been really bugging you... whatever it is, you now have the power to work flexibly.
As we always say you shouldn’t have to ‘go to work’ - your work should simply come along for the ride. So what you do on your first day is really down to you... but why not use the time to fire up your new gadgets
How is work assigned at Hevo and what will I be doing?
At Hevo, we follow a structured and data-driven roadmap planning approach. The roadmap is planned every quarter at a collective level. What goes into the roadmap is based on data and customer feedback that we have received in the past few months.
Based on the roadmap, OKRs (Objective and Key results) are identified and different teams are assigned to achieve the quarterly goals. The goals are broken down into different tasks and are assigned to the team members based on their skill set and experience.
How do I find out what projects are underway?
There are lists of current projects, but by far the best way to find out is to ask people. Anyone, really. When you do, you’ll find out what’s going on around the company and your peers will also find out about you. Lots of people at Hevo want and need to know what you care about, what you’re good at, what you’ve got experience with, and so on. And the way to get the word out is to start telling people all of those things.
So, while you’re getting the lay of the land by learning about projects, you’re also broadcasting your own status to a relevant group of people. Got an idea for how Hevo could change how we internally broadcast project/company status? Great. Do it. In the meantime, the chair next to anyone’s desk is always open, so plant yourself in it often.
